14U gear: prepare for the next standard
At 14U, players may face an upcoming change in bat certification and more specialized position demands. Confirm the rules for this season and the next one before making an expensive purchase.

01 / BEFORE YOU BUY
Confirm the bat standard and timeline
Ask the coach which certification, drop range, and barrel limits apply now, then ask what changes in the next division or school season. Buy for a known schedule rather than assuming one bat will cover every team.
02 / BEFORE YOU BUY
Do not rush a heavier bat
A different drop or construction changes how a bat feels. Let the player compare legal options with a coach and prioritize repeatable control. Price, material, and popularity are not substitutes for a manageable swing.
03 / BEFORE YOU BUY
Choose position gear deliberately
For a specialized glove or mitt, compare pattern, size, hand orientation, closure, and break-in needs. Make sure the position is established enough to justify the purchase and understand the return policy before treating the leather.
04 / BEFORE YOU BUY
Recheck all protective equipment
Follow the manufacturer’s current fit instructions for helmets and catcher’s gear. Inspect existing equipment for damage and required labels, and ask the coach or league about any additional protection requirements.
05 / BEFORE YOU BUY
Think in seasons, not upgrades
List what must be replaced now, what can safely remain in service, and what may change soon. Put the budget toward legal, correctly fitting essentials before cosmetic options or duplicate gear.

RAWLINGS
Mark of a Pro Light
11-inch • youth fit
A youth infield model with a leather shell and Pro H web. A starting point for a fit check, rather than a size prescription.
Check throwing hand and whether your player can comfortably close it.

RAWLINGS
Mark of a Pro Light 11.5
11.5-inch • basket web
The larger option in this pair uses a basket web and Youth Pro Taper fit. Compare it on your player’s hand before choosing.
This linked variant is for a right-handed thrower. Verify size and stock.

RAWLINGS
NXT Pink / Columbia Blue
11.5-inch • youth ContoUR fit
A pink-and-blue infield pattern with a narrower youth hand opening. The color stands out, but wrist security, closure, position, and break-in should still decide the fit.
The linked variant is for a right-handed thrower. Verify throwing hand, current stock, and that the player can close it comfortably.
