TRAVEL BALL CHECKLIST

Travel baseball equipment: pack what earns its space

Tournament weekends tempt families to overpack. Start with the equipment the player must control, add weather and basic backups, then leave low-value clutter at home.

01 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Separate player gear from family gear

Keep the player’s glove, legal bat, helmet, footwear, uniform pieces, protection, and water in a bag they can carry. Put chairs, shade, coolers, and spectator supplies in a separate load.

02 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Confirm rules for that tournament

Check bat certification, footwear, jewelry, uniform, and protective-equipment rules for the actual event. Do not rely on what was permitted at the previous tournament.

03 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Pack small backups with a clear purpose

Useful backups may include laces, socks, a belt, tape, a towel, and weather-appropriate layers. A second expensive bat or glove is not automatically necessary; decide based on team resources and the player’s role.

04 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Prepare for Florida weather

Bring water, sunscreen, shade, and a change of dry clothing when conditions call for them. Follow the tournament’s heat, lightning, cooler, and facility rules. Never leave a player’s equipment where heat or rain can damage it.

05 / BEFORE YOU BUY

Reset the bag after every game

Return each item to the same compartment, refill water, hang damp items to dry, and note anything that needs repair. The fastest tournament checklist is a consistent reset routine.
